We have many 1 hour sessions available for all ages and abilities and is a great way to get started in gymnastics. We cover general gymnastics skills and artistic apparatus and is our most popular type of session.
As of Mid-September 2017, we'll be offering 2 brand new sessions to under 5 year olds just starting out in gymnastics. Our Fundamentals sessions will be aimed at pre-school and learning shapes, rolls, balances and more while having lots of fun too! Plenty of soft play equipment, these sessions will also run out at Deer Park School and each session will be have a theme including - around the farmyard, let's go shopping, a trip to the seaside and a walk in the park!
For gymnasts who want to push themselves, enter competitions for the club at county and regional level and perform in displays throughout the year. Our display and competition squad sessions are our top tier and something to aspire to. We hold trials throughout the year and actively look for talented young gymnasts with the right attitude to join the squad!
Do you know your PK roll from your Kong vault? A 540 kick from a scoot?
We now run 2 dedicated Freestyle session. One session for 9 - 12 years and the other for 13+. The combination of traditional gymnastics infused with tricks, kicks, free running and parkour has especially attracted teenagers of which are predominately boys but we'd like to include more girls. These sessions are both currently full but enquire for an update. We recommend your child is already able in gymnastics or trampoline.
Cotswold Gymnastics Club has found that this type of session is particularly popular with teenage girls. We run two sessions where we give our teenage gymnasts an active role in the ownership of their gymnastic activities. Not only does it give them a platform to progress their gymnastic skills it is also a place where friendships develop. It is our desire to allow more time in the gym for this group of gymnasts.
Could you dance, lift, be part of a team?! ..... Cotswold Gymnastics Club performs live routines at schools, shows, events and dedicated Gym Fusion Festivals throughout the year. We combine tall & small, strong & flexible to show case what we do as a club. Over the last year we have set up 2 display squad session purely for display work. We have found that it has been invaluable in keeping our ‘Elite’ gymnasts involved in the sport after they have retired from competition, left school and/or developed into adults - there's no age limit. We typically hold trials at the start of the year with selection criteria made available in advance and it's open to all gymnasts in the club and ideal for those who like to perform to a crowd! These groups are currently closed for entry but we'll post on the website and on Facebook when the next trials will be!
Disability Gymnastics Programme
Our club is fully inclusive and accommodates gymnasts with disabilities. Developing the club to the next step would mean that sessions could be introduced and especially designed and adapted to meet the needs of each gymnast focusing on what they can do rather than what they can’t do. We have registered with the ‘I’m in’ initiative and are looking forward to developing our knowledge in this area and implementing what we learn.
