Head coaches Rachel Rogers and Claire Marriott are very proud to say that we have completed another
successful term at Cotswold Gymnastics Club. The club has now been running for 25 years, and is growing
from strength to srength. It boasts memberships of an all time high of 170 gymnasts and is now delighted
to be offering severel new sessions which includes classes especially designed for pre-school children. This
is something we have been longing to do for some time and hope will grow in the future.
The club introduced more classes, including toddler sessions. Rachel and Claire would like to thank the strong
coaching team and hard working committee for their continued support, without whom the Club would not be so
successful. Pictured with Claire and Rachel is 20 month old Charlie, the clubs youngest gymnast, enjoying swinging on the bars.
Gymnasts of the month were Phoebe Restorick and Emma Hatton, well done girls.
Well done to Jess Marriott and Sam Illing in achieving medals at the Gloucestershire County Levels on Sunday 5th

On Sunday 1st March, Sam Illing and Jessica Marriot took part in the National Tumbling competition in
Gloucester, competing in the 13+ age group which was the youngest in their category of 20 tumblers. They both
performed brilliantly with Sam coming 9th and Jess finishing 6th. Well done girls, this is a great result
and the second National competition for the club in 6 months!!
The club recently achieved GymMark, the British Gymnastics accreditation scheme that recognises a
quality club that promotes good practice. The certificate was placed above the main gym door and those who had not
seen it were quickly pointed towards it by the coaches. This was a great achievement for the club and a credit to
the gymnasts and of course the coaches and committee. More details about the GymMark scheme can be found on the
British Gymnastics Website.

Three gymnasts were awarded the Gymnast of the Month. Megan Sheridan and Aneta Fugalis flicking for the first time
on their own, along with Sian Kielty earning her place, well done girls.
In order to address the lengthy waiting list, new sessions, including a pre-school class, were started and became an instant success.
Obviously the coaches had too much spare time on their hands.
Snow got in the way with sessions being cancelled, just like going to school the gymnasts were upset about this.
